
DEWA Organizes Public Health and Safety Week
Mediaoffice.ae: As a socially responsible government organisation, Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) organises the 13th Public Health and Safety Week 2020, to raise community awareness on key health and safety standards, as well as precautionary measures against COVID-19.
Activities during the Public Health and Safety Week include competitions with valuable prizes. They also introduce the public to safety measures at home in case of emergencies, such as fires and water leakage. Activities also include occupational health and safety, nutritional and first aid tips, among others.
HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, highlighted DEWA’s commitment to instil and promote a healthy culture in society. DEWA also encourages Dubai residents to follow a healthy lifestyle and abide by precautionary measures. This supports the Government of Dubai’s efforts to ensure maximum protection against COVID-19. “DEWA organises the Public Health and Safety Week every year to promote the best international practices in health and safety among all society members to create a healthy and happy society. This is in accordance with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and the Dubai Plan 2021 to make Dubai a home for educated, cultured and healthy individuals. During these extraordinary circumstances around the world due to COVID-19, DEWA intensifies its efforts to support national efforts and spread health awareness among different segments of society. This ensures a healthy, secure and brighter future for generations to come,” said Al Tayer.
DEWA also placed informational screens at City Walk, Dubai to highlight the importance of sports and physical activities, and following a healthy lifestyle.
