Golden Globe Award winner John Goodman, Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis and Emmy Award winners Jean Smart and Edward Asner headline "Center of the Universe," an offbeat comedy about a Chicago man juggling his familial responsibilities. By default, family man John Barnett is the go-to guy for his eccentric extended clan. John and his wife, Kate, are still very much in love after 20 years of marriage and are looking forward to the next 20. Only one thing interrupts their bliss: John's family. His oversexed father, Art, and loopy mother, Marge, have a penchant for coming over unannounced, ready to stir the pot. As the owner of a security company, John just hired his gleefully oblivious brother, Tommy, who is having trouble wrapping his mind around the concept of office hours. John's sister, Lily, is a therapist who could be her own best patient. And while Kevin (recurring guest star Zachery Ty Bryan - "Home Improvement"), John and Kate's college-age son, seems normal enough, their 12-year-old son, Miles, has the makings of a perfectly nutty third-generation Barnett. As the family patriarch, John fights an uphill battle--with Kate's help--to keep the peace while his oddball family spins around him.

In tonights episode: The New Neighbors For Miles' sake, John and Kate spend time with their new neighbors -- whom they have nothing in common with -- because Miles and their son seem to like each other. Meanwhile, Tommy's anger towards Art reaches a boiling point.
