Is Idris Elba the next 007?

Yesterday, Bond fans were left in frenzy when Idris Elba posted cryptic tweets alongside a heavily-filtered selfie, and wrote: “My name’s Elba, Idris Elba” echoing the super spy’s famous catchphrase, “The name’s Bond, James Bond.”

The post created a wave of tweets on the social media with the tweet being liked more than 100,000 times.

However Idris followed up his post a few hours later with another teasing tweet that said: “Don’t believe the hype…” leaving his followers baffled as to whether he was dropping hints or just having a bit of fun.

If the rumors turn out to be true then The 45-year-old Elba will be replacing Daniel Craig, 50, who begins filming his fifth and final outing as the MI6 agent this December.
