The 80th Annual Academy Awards®

Hollywood's month of self-congratulation is here, with a field of Oscar contenders strong enough to make this year’s Academy Awards an unforgettable event. And thanks to Dubai One, the UAE’s 24 hour free to air entertainment channel is giving its lucky viewers nationwide the chance to catch the event LIVE as it airs the 80th Annual Academy Awards EXCLUSIVELY on February 25th at 03:00 UAE, with a repeat on Monday February 25th at 18:00 UAE. A sum-up of the whole ceremony, as well as highlights on the Oscar winners will air the following Friday on February 29th at 16:00 UAE to recap the event for viewers who missed out. In addition, Dubai One will make things more interesting by running an on-air competition prior to the event, to test viewers’ instincts on who will win the award for the following categories: Best Actor, and Best Actress. Viewers will be asked to send in their answers by SMS to the numbers aired by Dubai One. The competition is ongoing till February 21st. Fifteen winners will be chosen through a draw, done by the Dubai One team following the Oscars telecast. The winners’ names will be announced on Hersay’s episode of Sunday March 2nd at 19:30 UAE. The prizes are fifteen Canon cameras, eight of which are professional, and seven are digital cameras.
