World Television Day!
World Television Day was proclaimed by the United Nations in 1996. It is celebrated annually on November 21. TV has been a symbol of communication and globalization. Television came to being in the Middle East in 1956 when Iraq started transmitting black and white images, then Kuwait and The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia followed soon. In 1974, Dubai TV started coloured transmission from its highly modern studio complex with advanced equipment. Dubai TV's state of the art studios has been a home to large-scale TV productions up to the present.
