Ep 25: Pop Culture

This week Twenty Something looks at pop culture. We’re reminiscing about the trends, TV shows and music we grew up on and loved and we’re celebrating what we’re into now. Bidoun magazine’s project co-ordinator gives an insight into the latest developments in arts and culture in the Arab world today and the Emirati pop art expert and founder of Dibs and Dips bakery, Zeinabl al Hashemi talks about the flavours of our history. And some of the biggest names on the Arab hip hop scene tell us how our favourite form of pop culture can carry a serious message.

The winners of last year’s Sound City Grand Prize, Sho? perform in the studio.
