Tom Hanks Sci-Fi Feature 'Finch' Lands at Apple

Hollywoodreporter.com: After picking up the once theatrically bound WWII feature Greyhound,  Apple has landed another Tom Hanks-fronted feature.

The streamer has acquired sci-fi movie Finch, previously titled Bios, from Amblin Entertainment. The movie was previously set for an August theatrical release via Universal, which had to push the film several times due to pandemic theater closures.

In the film, Hanks stars as a robotics engineer and one of the few survivors of a cataclysmic solar event who wants to ensure his beloved dog, Goodyear, will be cared for after he is gone. He creates a robot (Caleb Landry Jones) to watch over Goodyear when he no longer can, and the trio embarks on a perilous journey into a desolate American West, as Finch hopes to show the robot the joy and wonder of what it means to be alive.

Miguel Sapochnik, known for his work on Game of Thrones, directed Finch from an original screenplay by Craig Luck and Ivor Powell.

Kevin Misher, Jack Rapke, Jacqueline Levine, and Powell produced. Robert Zemeckis, Craig Luck, Miguel Sapochnik, Andy Berman and Adam Merims executive produced.
