Paul McCartney to Release a Memoir in November

Hollywoodreporter.com: Paul McCartney is set to release a memoir.

The singer announced Wednesday on social media that he will recount his life and songwriting that has spanned for 64 years in, The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present, to be published by Liveright in November. The 960-page memoir will be comprised of two alphabetically arranged volumes.

"From his early Liverpool days, through the historic decade of The Beatles, to Wings and his long solo career, The Lyrics pairs the definitive texts of 154 Paul McCartney songs with first-person commentaries on his life and music," Liveright describes of the memoir.

In The Lyrics, McCartney will share his commentary behind the creation of his infamous songs including "Let It Be," "Lovely Rita," and "Yesterday," discuss those who inspired his songs such as his parents, John Lennon and Queen Elizabeth and detail his literary influences. The Lyrics will also include McCartney's personal photographs, handwritten texts and paintings.

In lieu of the memoir announcement, McCartney shared a trailer in which his song "Calico Skies" could be overheard playing alongside personal footage and photographs and a quote from McCartney that reads, "When some people get to a certain age, they go to a diary to recall the past. But I have no such notebooks. What I have are my songs."

The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present will be released on Nov. 2 and is available for pre-order now.
