Edgar Ramirez Joins 'Borderlands'

Hollywoodreporter.com: Edgar Ramirez is stepping into the world of Borderlands. The actor will play Atlas, a business titan and arms manufacturer who also happens to be the universe's most powerful person.

The cast for the Lionsgate video game adaptation includes Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, Haley Bennett, and Jack Black. Filmmaker Eli Roth is directing Borderlands from a script by Craig Mazin, the Emmy-winning creator of HBO's Chernobyl.

Borderlands launched as a gaming series in 2009. Gearbox Software and publisher 2K debuting the latest title, Borderlands 3, in September 2019. Avi Arad and Ari Arad are producing the film via their Arad Productions banner. Erik Feig is producing through Picturestart. The executive producers are Randy Pitchford, executive producer of the Borderlands video game franchise and founder of the Gearbox Entertainment Company, and Strauss Zelnick, chairman and CEO of Take-Two Interactive.

Ramirez is currently on screens with Netflix's Yes Day,  and has earned Golden Globe nominations for his work in American Crime Story and Carlos. He is repped by CAA, Impression Entertainment, Narrative and Hirsch Wallenstein.
