Margot Robbie and Greta Gerwig comment on ‘Barbie’ sequel

A sequel to 'Barbie' is currently not in development.

Following the success of "Barbie" at the box office, the entertainment industry was abuzz with anticipation for a potential sequel.

Margot Robbie, the film's star and producer, recently set the record straight during a chat with the Associated Press. She quashed the swirling rumors, saying, "We didn't build it to be a trilogy or something."

Director Greta Gerwig weighed in on the matter at the Gotham Awards red carpet. Dousing any hopes of a speedy sequel, she told Entertainment Tonight, "At the moment, we are at zero."
