Hollywood Celebrities Support World Health Day

etonline.com: Some of the biggest names in entertainment and sports are lending their star power to a good cause.

In recognition of World Health Day on April 7, superstars like Celine Dion, the Jonas Brothers, Robin Thicke, Little Big Town, as well as olympians Laurie Hernandez and Apolo Ohno, teamed up to spread the word about the David Clark Cause's Call For Code campaign.

The initiative -- which aims to create a coalition of business leaders, celebrities, scientists, activists and political figures with a goal of addressing social issues through the advancement of technology -- turned its attention on the scourge of natural disasters, and those who are impacted by them across the globe.

These entertainment luminaries used their voices to spread the message of the Call For Code campaign, raising the profile of the initiative and increasing its potential impact on programmers, coders and tech designers the world over.

In partnership with IBM, the David Clark Cause and the Call For Code campaign will continue this year's initiative through October, when it culminates with the 2nd Annual Call for Code Global Prize.

The coveted prize will be presented -- along with $200,000 -- to the team of developers who are able to create "the most innovative software solution to help people in need," according to a statement released by the campaign.
