Johann Johannsson - Theory Of Everything and Arrival Composer Died at 48

Etonline.com: Rest in peace, Johann Johannsson.

The Oscar-nominated composer was found dead at his apartment in Berlin, Germany, on Friday, according to multiple reports. Johannsson's management team confirmed his death on Facebook on Saturday.

"It is with profound sadness that we confirm the passing of our dear friend Jóhann," the post read. "We have lost one of the most talented and brilliant people who we had the privilege of knowing and working with. May his music continue to inspire us."

Johannsson, 48, was responsible for scoring films like The Theory of Everything, Arrival and Sicario. He was nominated for an Oscar, a GRAMMY and BAFTA Award for his work on The Theory of Everything in 2014, and won a Golden Globe for the score. He received a second Oscar nomination for Sicario in 2015, and Golden Globe, BAFTA and GRAMMY nominations for Arrival in 2016.

The Iceland-born composer also found success as a solo musician. His first album, Englaborn, was released in 2002, followed by Viroulegu Forsetar in 2004, IBM 1401, A User's Manual in 2006, Fordlandia in 2008, and Orphee in 2016.

Johannsson is survived by his parents, three sisters and one daughter.
