Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are Engaged

mediaexpress.reuters.co: Britain's Prince Harry is engaged to his U.S. actress girlfriend Meghan Markle.

That's according to a statement from his father, Prince Charles. Harry - who's 33 and fifth in line for the throne - has informed the Queen, the statement said, and has sought and received the blessing of Markle's parents. Prince Charles said he was "delighted" by the news:

The engagement took place in London earlier this month. The pair met through friends in July 2016. Harry confirmed the relationship months later in a rebuke to the media who had been intruding into 36-year-old Markle's private life. And Harry is himself no stranger to appearing in the papers - having attracted a number of negative headlines in his youth.

But it appears the prince, who previously served in the military and created the Invictus Games for wounded service personnel, is settling down.

The wedding will take place in Spring next year.
