Jane Lynch says she’s Going to Shake up Her Wardrobe for People’s Choice Awards 2016
Some award show hosts show up on the big night with everything set in stone, but not Jane Lynch. In fact, the comedic actress, who is set to host People’s Choice Awards 2016, doesn’t have a game plan yet and really doesn’t seem too worried about it.
“I don’t have a game plan yet but the great thing about working with [executive producer] Mark Burnett is that he’s going to create this infastructure and this solid but flexible cage for us to play in and so we get to be loosey goosey and creative,” explained Lynch when we caught up with her at the People’s Choice Awards nomination ceremony last month.
The actress also went on to say that Burnett, who is executive producing the award show for the seventh year, taught her one very important lesson about being a successful award show host that she plans to use when she hits the stage at the Microsoft Theater in January.
“The most important thing I learned, and I learned it from working with Mark on the Emmys is to relax, let people around you do what they’re supposed to do, and your job is relatively simple: your job is to move things along— to be the energy of the show,” explained Lynch. “For me, anyway, I love that— that’s why I love having dinner parties at my own home so I just bring that and I learned that from working with Mark.
Finally, the Glee alum teased that those who tune in might see her rock something other than her signature sleek paint suitensemble on the big night.
“I just know I’m going to wear something different,” revealed Lynch of what she plans to do come award show night. "I’m going to shake it up!”
