Jason Derulo Will Rock People’s Choice Awards 2016

Jason Derulo (or should we say Jason Derulooooo?) will be kicking off 2016 in a big way with a performance at the People’s Choice Awards.

“Jason is such an all around incredible performer and triple threat in the industry,” said executive producer Mark Burnett in a statement. “We are thrilled he is coming to perform and he will bring the perfect energy to our show.”

The “Want to Want Me” singer, who is known for saying his name at the beginning of his songs, joins previously announced performer Shawn Mendes for the 42nd annual award ceremony, which will be hosted by Jane Lynch.

Derulo, who has sold more than 50 million tracks throughout his career, released his fourth studio album, Everything is 4, earlier this year. His previous LP, Talk Dirty, yielded five platinum hits on its way to becoming Derulo’s first top five album in the United States. An all-around entertainer, Derulo is also an accomplished dancer, and serves as a judge on FOX’s So You Think You Can Dance.

While voting for this year’s show has closed for most categories, fans can still cast their votes for their Favorite New TV Comedyand Favorite New TV Drama until the night of the show.
