Robin Williams's Daughter, Zelda, Urges Others to Seek Help on World Mental Health Day

Nearly two months after her father, Robin Williams, lost his battle with mental illness by committing suicide, his daughter, Zelda Williams, paid tribute to him on World Mental Health Day by urging others suffering from the disease to seek help.

"Mental illness is often misunderstood & misrepresented, but that's starting to change. Let's end the stigma," Williams, 25,Tweeted on Oct. 10. "Mental health IS as important as physical health, & whether there are visible signs or not, the suffering is real. It can affect EVERYONE."

Directing her Twitter followerstowards "wonderful mental health charities" such as the Barrow Neurological Foundation, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Brain & Behavior Research Foundation and Hope for the Warriors, the actress stressed the importance of seeking help.

"Let's stop the misconceptions & support those who need our help. Healing the whole starts with healing minds," she wrote. "No matter what the misinformed say, you can't simply CHOOSE to make mental illness go away. It is NOT cowardly to suffer or seek help. Lastly, my dad openly fought depression his whole life, both in general and his own. No matter what anyone says, it is a FIGHT. Fight on."

Williams died on Aug. 11, at age 63, after battling severe depression throughout his life.

"Dad was, is and always will be one of the kindest, most generous, gentlest souls I've ever known, and while there are few things I know for certain right now, one of them is that not just my world, but the entire world is forever a little darker, less colorful and less full of laughter in his absence. We'll just have to work twice as hard to fill it back up again," Zelda wrote on her Tumblr shortly after her father's death.
