The Last Trapper

A mix of documentary and fiction, "The Last Trapper" is the story of Norman Winther and his wife, who play themselves in the film. They live in complete isolation in the Yukon, hunting grizzlies and wolves. The last representatives of a way of life almost extinct, they are uninterested in modern amenities and determined to remain true to tradition. A poetic ode to ecology and the protection of the environment, the majestic landscapes of "The Last Trapper" were filmed in very harsh conditions, reflecting director Nicolas Vanier's lifetime commitment to the Great North.
