Dubai Police nab young driver for dangerous driving

Dubai Police have apprehended a young Asian man who was caught on video driving dangerously, overtaking vehicles on the hard shoulder at high speed, putting both his life and the lives of other road users at serious risk.

Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic, stated that traffic patrols promptly investigated the incident. He reiterated that such dangerous behavior is a clear violation of the law and a blatant disregard for human life and should not be tolerated. He also emphasized that sharing the video could encourage others to do the same, thereby undermining the efforts to promote traffic safety awareness.

Al Mazrouei stated that the specialized teams in the General Department of Traffic swiftly identified and apprehended the driver, taking necessary legal actions, under Decree No. 30 of 2023 concerning vehicle impoundment. The decree imposes fine of AED 50,000 for the release of impounded vehicle. The driver has been referred to the relevant authorities for further legal proceedings.
